Description

Ignition: Glow Bore: 11/16 in. Stroke: 3/4 in. Displacement: 1.2 Cu in. Max RPM: 6,000 This engine is a Merrit Zimmerman design built from castings and drawings sold by Chester DuBiel of Cleveland Ohio. I built this engine after doing the construction article on the quarter scale version for SIC magazine. It runs on glow ignition and circulates the glow fuel through the crankcase sump before it passes into the combustion chambers, effectively lubricating the bottom end in the process. This engine started and ran perfectly from the first flip of the prop. I can't say that about any of my other engines. It idles nicely, responds well to the throttle, and has plenty of top end power and speed.
