1. W/S Police driving down Arsenal Street SCRIPT USA: Shootout in Boston as possible Marathon bomber arrested Police officers swamped the Boston suburb of Watertown early Friday after reports of a shootout and possible bomb detonation. Earlier, a shootout near the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in nearby Cambridge has left a police officer dead, and a man taken into custody there is being reported by the Boston Globe as a suspect in Monday's Boston Marathon bombings that killed three and injured 183. Police cars raced down Arsenal Street, which links Watertown and Cambridge across the Charles River. Journalists on the scene confirmed the involvement of SWAT teams and bomb disposal robots. State police later confirmed that a suspect had been taken into custody. National Guard troops, FBI agents and the Department of Homeland Security are also on the scene, a move that many Twitter users have interpreted as a sign that the suspects may be related to the Boston Marathon bombings. On Thursday, the FBI released photos and video of two men they believe to be involved in the attacks. President Barack Obama, speaking in Boston, called those responsible "small, stunted individuals" while promising law enforcement would find those responsible and hold them accountable.
