Comcast Corporation - the world's largest broadcasting and cable company - is purchasing DreamWorks Animation - the studio responsible for the Shrek, Madagascar and Kung Fu Panda franchises - at a cost of approximately $3.55 billion. This deal will make DreamWorks part of the Universal Filmed Entertainment Group, which includes Universal Pictures and NBCUniversal. The move will strengthen parent company Comcast's presence in the ever-important children's entertainment sector.
