New York City to Offer Free Phone Charging Stations in Parks - Street Charge Program - 6/18/13

June 18, 2013 Report: MYFOXNY.COM/AP - It's a sight that can trigger dread. The low-battery message appears on your cell phone when there's no charger around. Now New York City has teamed up with AT&T to install 25 solar powered charging stations over the summer. They'll be available for free in parks across the five boroughs. The solar technology in the "Street Charge" stations can fully charge up to 30 phones before it needs its own recharge - even with cloud cover and during the night. The devices also can charge tablets and other mobile devices.
