Detectives Seek Public's Assistance in Camden Homicide

The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office and Camden County Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man who may have information pertaining to a fatal shooting in Camden. The victim, James Rhodes, was found lying in an alleyway after Camden County Police responded at approximately 9:20 p.m. on Friday (5/20/16) to the 2800 block of North Constitution Road in reference to a ShotSpotter activation. Rhodes, a 24-year-old East Orange resident, was transported to Cooper University Hospital where he was pronounced deceased at 9:40 p.m. Surveillance video footage shows Rhodes walking with the man – a black male wearing a red shirt and dark pants – in the alleyway between North Constitution Road and North Congress Road shortly before the shooting occurred. Shortly thereafter, the video shows the man running in the opposite direction of the homicide scene. The video may be viewed here: Detectives would like to speak with this man. Members of the public should not approach this man, but should call police if they have information pertaining to his identity or whereabouts.
