Description

Direct descendant of the legendary 12P movement, the 1200P is the thinnest self-winding mechanical movement in the world. To achieve the record-breaking thinness of 2.35 mm, the watchmaker, Piaget relied on all of its ultra-thin expertise and trimmed down all of the movement's components. Some of the gears in the 1200P have been reduced to only 0.12 mm, hardly thicker than a human hair, and the space between the wheels has been reduced to a minimum of only 0.1 mm. It is also equipped with a balance stop. In order to make the best use of space, the platinum micro-rotor, decorated with the Piaget coat of arms is off-centred and positioned at 9 o'clock on the movement. As part of Piaget's constant effort to differentiate its models, it has decorated the wheels of the 1200P movement with a sunburst motif and its index assembly carries the stylised P of Piaget like a secret signature. The circular Côtes de Genève, the circular-grained mainplate, the bevelled bridges, the oscillating weight in platinum engraved with the Piaget coat of arms and with its limited edition number as well as the blued screws add the finishing touches to this exceptional movement, while remaining true to the aesthetic codes cherished by the Swiss watchmaking brand. http://www.piaget.com/movement/1200p-ultra-thin-automatic-movement
