Description

Belgium will issue iodine tablets to its entire population as part of a newly revised nuclear emergency plan. The measure was unveiled just after it emerged that bombers linked with terror group ISIS spied on a top scientist in hopes of making a "dirty bomb." The dose of iodine will help to limit the effects of radiation on the body. According to Health Minister Maggie De Block, the pill will be made available to 11 million people in the country. The move has yet to be finalized by officials, and came after the country reviewed its emergency plans in wake of the 2011 Fukushima nuclear meltdown in Japan.
