For more stories visit http://www.enca.com/ May 23 - Human rights campaign group Amnesty International says the international community is failing to deal with the worsening refugee situation in Africa. In its Annual Report on human rights around the world, it calls on the European Union to "drastically increase" the number of resettlement places it offers to refugees so that African countries do not continue to disproportionately shoulder the burden of refugees displaced by conflict. In addition, the report points to infringement of basic human rights in countries such as Sudan, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Kenya, Mauritania and Nigeria and concerns have been raised over South Africa.
