Demonstrators held placards outside the Diet, where security was tightened for the US president's three-day visit. Obama and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe are expected to discuss the Pacific trade deal, which would link and eliminate trade barriers between 12 countries holding around one third of global trade. President Obama's Asia tour will also include South Korea, Malaysia, and the Philippines.
