Three Ways to Cross a River (2010)

SOURCE

Description

Recorded between June 2009 and January 2010 on the outskirts of the town of Kédougou, capital of one of Senegal's most isolated regions that has recently found itself at the center of international attention for its gold reserves. Australian and Canadian corporations bargain with the national government over industrial extraction permits, while Guineans, Malians and others flock to small-scale/artisanal mining sites in villages around the region. But there are still only three ways to cross the Gambia River.
