Description

Los Angeles County is one of the arts and entertainment capital of the world. Of course we are home to movie stars and celebrities—but Los Angeles County also has hundreds of museums, art galleries, and music venues—displaying everything from paintings and sculptures to live bands and operas. Two of the most popular cultural gems in the region are the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Music Center. LACMA, home to over 100,000 pieces of art, draws visitors from all over the world to see stunning works of photography, painting, sculpture and much more. And the Music Center, with its five performance venues, which has been at the heart and soul of downtown Los Angeles’ culture boom since the 1960s. This month, I’m excited to welcome the CEO of LACMA, and the interim President and Chief Operating Officer of the Music Center to discuss the impact these cultural cornerstones have had on the transformation of the largest county in America into the premiere place to take in an art exhibit, a play, or a symphony.
