Description

45 years ago today, Ohio National Guardsmen opened fire during an anti-war protest at Kent State University, killing four students and injuring nine others. Among the students on campus that day was Kent State defensive back and current Alabama head coach Nick Saban. The events of May 4th still resonate with Saban, “…it was a real tragedy and something that affects me every day just about, because you have some of these events in your life that just, you never forget.” Today on Outside the Lines, as the events last week in Baltimore recall images of the turbulent 60’s and 70’s, we’ll talk with several Kent State athletes about that tumultuous day in Ohio.
