Description

The Orientator (aka: Acroplane) was produced commercially, but didn't gain much popularity as a flight trainer; the only buyer was the Cuban government, which purchased five. It was not until Eyerly took the Orientator to several fairs as an amusement ride, where he noticed from the air that the queues for it were much longer than for real airplane rides, that it became a success. The Orientator was re-named the Acroplane , and over 50 were manufactured and sold to carnivals and amusement parks. In this clip, you can see a few other major attractions that once graced this beautiful amusement pier from the past. thanks D Burton for finding this movie!
