Description

Cherry Pink And Apple Blossom White (Louiguy-David) by Alan Dale, orchestra and chorus conducted by Dick Jacobs (CD audio source) This top-15 charted vocal version of the Perez Prado hit joined Dale's "Sweet and Gentle" (1955) and "Heart Of My Heart" (1953-54, with Don Cornell & Johnny Desmond) as one of his three most successful single releases of the 1950s. Two of Alan Dale's lesser-known recordings from the 1940s have been previously posted to this channel: "Kate (Have I Come Too Early Too Late)" with the Ray Bloch band and "The Darktown Strutters' Ball" duet with Connie Haines. Several years prior to this French tune's 1955 emergence as a major hit, Mack David had composed the lyrics to "Cherry Pink And Apple Blossom White" and it was recorded by the Jimmy Dorsey band...a 1951 track also available on this channel.
