Description

Ever been frustrated with bad keying green screen? Today we look at a basic lighting set up that can drastically improve the quality of your green screen footage. Keying in After Effects and Premiere (or any other program you use) will be much easier after learning this basic lighting set up for your green screen. In the video I used some pretty not affordable lights but you can follow the idea behind the set up with your own lights. Main things to keep in mind for any lights when illuminating your scene are: 2 soft sources of light on either side of the greenscreen to make it as evenly lit as possible. If there are any hot spots or dark areas you can fill them in with another soft source that matches your other two lights as far as color temperature. After that you have total freedom on how you light your subject, just remember these tips: Avoid any light spilling onto your green screen from your subject's lights. If possible, add a subtle minus green or magenta color correction gel to take out a bit of green from the lights that are hitting your subject. Hope this helps!
