Description

Recent "Active Killer" incidents have struck our society to the core. Bottom line, when the public runs away from gun fire 1st responders are first on scene! SWAT is invaluable. However, it's simply not feasible to stage a SWAT team at every school, shopping mall, office space and street corner in America 24/7. Therefore, 1st responders need Active Shooter and basic tactical skill proficiency. They need a system that utilizes ICS which quickly covers the entire AS process from 911 call to engaging the "Active Killer." The Solution: Kilo - 1 Applications Group, LLC (In partnership with Xtreme Action Sports) Full Active Shooter Training (FAST) is a dynamic, cerebral, no-nonsense team-building and team leadership Active Shooter course. FAST will provide participants with fundamental knowledge of Active Shooter incidents from which to build upon. It will teach participants tactical situational awareness and how to operationally employ themselves--in accordance with ICS principles and commonly accepted tactical principles--individually and up to four-man teams in reality-based Active Shooter incidents. FAST is primarily designed for non-SWAT officers and 1st responders featuring either 9-hours of Active Shooter training. Goals are achieved by utilizing AirSoft semi-auto/auto M-4 rifles and "force-on-force" drills in reality-based scenarios. FAST employs standardized methodology that initiates upon receipt of a 911 call from dispatch, continues to a staging area, transitions to the final approach to a breach point, and culminates inside a structure to engage an Active Shooter. Officers rotate to role-play as an Active Shooter. The best method to understand/defeat an adversary is train like him. Though much empahsis is focused on operating alone or in pairs, FAST is also a small unit leadership and team building course. Every officer will learn to be a "Strike Team Leader" or "Assistant Strike Team Leader" during force-on-force scenarios. Select officers will have the opportunity to be an Incident Commander or a Team Leader during various scenarios. The deliverable: FAST graduates are confident, "simulated-combat-experienced," basically-trained, Active Shooter 1st responders. They will achieve enhanced moral, proficiency and synergy with fellow 1st responders. Completing FAST counts toward 9 hours of an officer's 40-hour MPTC annual in-service training requirement. Additionally, 9 hours of the training also meets the MPTC firearms training standard because it directly involves tactical firearms training. FAST is designed for all 1st responders: Law enforcement patrol, SROs, non-SWAT officers, FIRE/EMS, campus/hospital police and security (armed and unarmed), private security agents, and military personnel seeking fundamental proficiency/knowledge in Active Shooter while developing force-on-force, team-building and small unit leadership proficiency. FAST is a cerebral course that employs cutting-edge, Active Shooter methodology and techniques with fundamental tactical principals in reality-based force-on-force drills and scenarios at a 13,000 square foot AirSoft facility, Xtreme Action Sports in Walpole, Mass. Emphasis is placed on developing a winning mindset and small-unit tactical leadership if operating as a force of two or greater. Graduates will enhance their confidence and tactical skills, and be better prepared to address an Active Shooter incident by applying a system designed to compress response time and save lives.
