Actress, Founder, Save Your Do Nicole Ari Parker is considered an opinion leader and a go-to expert as it pertains to the largest demographic in the world ̶ working mothers. Parker is the founder of Save Your Do, a fashionable hair accessory that allows women to workout and save their hair. She and her husband actor Boris Kodjoe have also launched a new health & wellness movement called Strive To Thrive that delivers a socially conscious integrated message involving collaboration with community, igniting and sustaining healthier lifestyles. As an actress, Parker is immediately recognizable by fans. She is perhaps best known for her outstanding performance as Teri Joseph on Showtime's award-winning original series Soul Food. Beyond her television appearances, Parker has compiled a notable resume on the big screen including Disney’s Remember the Titans starring Denzel Washington; Welcome Home, Roscoe Jenkins alongside Martin Lawrence; Boogie Nights starring Mark Wahlberg; HBO Original Film Dancing in September; and Fox Searchlight's Brown Sugar opposite Taye Diggs. She made her Broadway debut in 2012, starring opposite Blair Underwood as Blanche Dubois in the revival of Tennessee Williams’ classic play A Streetcar Named Desire; and recently finished filming a Jerry Bruckheimer pilot in New York. For her many accomplishments both on and off the screen, Parker has received numerous awards including the “Maverick Award” ̶ Women Empowering Women 2010; the “Renaissance Woman of the Year Award” – Collective Renaissance Guild, 2010; the “Remarkable Women Award” – Heart & Soul Magazine, 2011; the NAACP Spirit Theatre Award, 2012; and a Stevie Award for Entrepreneur of the Year – Best New Consumer Product – Health & Fitness, 2012.
