Join us and celebrate the work of Watford born animator Joy Batchelor, the talented artist behind the animated classic Animal Farm. Delve into the world of drawing and have a go at lino printing with Culture Cart, stop motion animation with Quirky Pictures, flipbooks with Roger Kattenhorn and not to mention an array of harvest stalls, I-Spy animals, drawing exchange and chalk paving drawing! There will be something for everyone! Discover printing, animation, dance, drawing and heritage! Join us, and celebrate the work of Watford born animator Joy Batchelor, and the art of Halas & Batchelor’s most famous film Animal Farm. Print, paint, draw and dance with a team of artists who will show you how to make an animated film, flipbooks, limited edition prints, masks, lino cuts and more - all on the theme of animal life. Join award-winning Quirky Pictures in their pop-up animation studio and bring your animal drawings to life to strut their stuff! Make a mask and dance like an animal in our funky farm, and see yourself on the big screen. Marvel at Culture Cart’s printing machines, and make a huge lino cut from your drawings, filling our farm for the day with all the animals you can imagine. Join artist Roger Kattenhorn and make your very own flipbook. See if you can spot the farm animals made by local primary schools, hidden in the shops! And if that wasn’t enough, you can discover Farzana Chaudry’s harvest stall, swap your artwork, sign into the world’s longest visitor book and chalk your thoughts about your town on a giant pavement artwork. There is something for everyone! Family Friendly Facilities: An outdoor performing venue, with lots of space for great activities! Nearby shops have local amenities for the public to use. Cover incase of weather will be provided for different drawing activities. All ages welcome! Accessibility: Watford has fantastic links to the M1 and M25. Nearby car parks include Gade, Avenue and Palace. Watford High Street Station and Watford Junction are in walking distance. Buses include: 142 from Brent Cross 321 from Luton Airport 724 from Heathrow Airport 258 from South Harrow All the above stop in the town centre, five to ten minutes walk from the Parade. The Parade area is wheelchair and pushchair friendly and completely pedestrianised.
