Technical Project Manager
Job Description
Frequency is a personal video aggregation platform. We give consumers their own personalized, portable video “tuner” that keeps track of all the places they like to watch video from online – from their favorite websites and blogs to their social networks – and which they can access from any device.
The company is expanding rapidly and deploying versions of Frequency onto new platforms, from mobile, to games consoles to Smart TVs. We are looking for a technical project manager to run our product development process as we significantly expand our product portfolio.
Frequency is looking for a Technical Project Manager responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of day-to-day product development of our products from ideation to launch.
This position reports to VP of Operations and works directly with cross- functional teams such as QA, engineering, analytics, creative design, UX, editorial, and management to prioritize new business and functional requirements. The Technical Project Manager will have a passion for delivering high quality products and an enthusiasm for discovering new and creative solutions to resolve issues and remove impediments
Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for executing the Agile/Scrum process for development teams
- Manage sprint planning and results tracking/reporting
- Run daily stand-up meetings
- Schedule & oversee design and/or code review as needed
- Work with Product Management and Tech Leadership to plan for upcoming sprints
- Work with management to establish sprint metrics and collect/report results
- Proactively review team progress and identify opportunities for process and team improvement
- Work closely with engineering, development and QA teams to help define and coordinate the software release process for engineering projects
- Provide accurate and timely updates to management.
- Work with VP of Operations to analyze workflow bottlenecks and
- streamline processes by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures
Desired Skills & Experience
- Project management experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to details
- Must be adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Analytical thinker and communicator with top-notch problem-solving skills including a proven track record for resolving conflicts rationally and objectively
- Ability to work with engineering tools, bug systems and ticketing systems (example: JIRA, Wiki)
- Ability to be a positive change agent within the product team and across the organization
- 2-5 years of relative project management experience (preferably in web and/or software development environments)
- Internet industry experience
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
- Scrum Master Certification
- Working knowledge of Scrum planning/execution tools desired (example: Greenhopper, Rally, VersionOne)
- PMP Certification
