What is Frequency?
Frequency is a personal video service that lets you watch videos - from anywhere and everywhere on the Internet - in one convenient place. Frequency turns the best websites and social media sites into distinct video channels. Simply log in and you'll find all the videos from your favorite sources of news, entertainment, music, sports and technology, as well as all the videos your friends are sharing on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and more.
-
Where does Frequency find all these videos?
Frequency monitors hundreds of thousands of websites and online video sources in near real-time. As videos become available, they automatically and instantly appear in your channels. So, for example, when a friend posts a video on Facebook, it appears in your Facebook channel on Frequency. It works the same way for videos on Twitter, YouTube and every other website or blog. Just select your channels, and the videos come right to you. Every time.
In short, Frequency makes it really easy to see, in one place, everything that's happening in your online world. And to visit the source of any video, all you have to do is click on the link and off you go.
-
What is the Tuner and how do I use it?
The Tuner runs across the top of your screen and has a blue background. It contains an icon for everything you are following – channels, topics and people.
The buttons in the Tuner function like the presets on your car stereo. To tune in a channel, simply click the button and Frequency will begin collecting all the videos in that channel. For example, when you click the Twitter icon in the Tuner, Frequency will begin gathering all the videos posted by everyone you're following.
The Tuner is easy to use and easy to personalize. To change the location of your favorite channels in your Tuner, simply drag an icon to the left or right and it will drop into the new position (currently this feature is only available on the website, not the iPad app). Or, use the drag-and-drop technique to combine multiple icons into one "Smart Channel."
-
